Just read the BBC story – well done Glover and Stanning! That is some impressive rowing.
Are you able to view video on that BBC site?
I didn’t see any video – perhaps I missed it, or maybe I can’t see it because I’m outside the UK?
The page has many videos on it with H&H at the top of the page so I guess it’s one of those restriction things – shame, it is brilliant.
Did you try Dr T’s fix?
I plan to this weekend when I have some time to tinker.
I saw this on TV- very cute – ahh ! First Team GB gold – a big hurrah for them and all the Olympians ! 😄
Yes, even the men are delivering the odd tender moment with much British back slapping!
Read this today and send congrats! http://sportsonearthblog.com/2012/08/03/national-treasures-were-all-watching-our-own-olympics/
(I actually try NOT to root for the us as much as possible…coverage here makes it hard because so little is shown of other countries…but have been watching a semi-bootlegged BBC feed during the day which has been brilliant, have gotten to see so much more, with so much less friggin hype!)
That’s an interesting concept there, Towanda “semi-bootlegged”
and a fine link. I forget that coverage around the world is different from what we are being served by our remarkable BBC. The logistics of the Olympics + Proms + Edinborough + Fringe & other festivals is mindboggling and we are very lucky.
I was just thinking that today when I saw your latest Proms post…how in the world are y’all hosting the Olympics AND Proms all at the same time?! Don’t know what the other two are but goodness, just those two seem more than enough for one’s plate!
Ones’s plate is full indeed and one’s cup runneth over. Proms and Olympics bring out the best in people which is a warm feeling
Another link to celebrate a jolly good weekend for the Brits at the Olympics! Congrats! http://sportsonearthblog.com/2012/08/05/a-gold-or-three-for-the-home-crowd/
Yes, things are looking very rosy for us Brits and of course the support of the crowd has a lot to do with it.
But wait – can this green visitor be the towanda we know and love? Where is the pink? Are you trying to tell us something?
As the Vicar of Dibley says, I have no bloody idea at all! But it looks like below the pink has returned.
Hoorah!
I watched this on TV, too (not live, tho… NBC Sports has its own weird concept of what a ‘live’ broadcast means). They blew everybody away!
My legs and back and shoulders ached just watching how fast and strongly these gals rowed.
Hope you’re enjoying both the Olympics and the Proms!
