On stage or off – you cannot beat the Cool White Shirt Look -
perfectly modelled here by soprano Barbara Bonney

Now BB is not exactly well known for her White Shirt opera appearances, although she does sound divine and always looks very fetching indeed. One could almost be forgiven for wishing she were a mezzo but then she has given us some remarkable performances playing opposite our favourite mezzos. Anyway, to get to the point …..
Each week day on BBC radio 3 there is a programme called “Essential Classics” presented by Sarah Walker which consists of three main elements.
- 09.00 – Essential CD of the Week. This week features Faure: The Complete Piano Works, performed by Paul Crossley.
- 09.30 – A daily brainteaser and performances by the Artist of the Week.
- 10.30 – A guest. This week it is Dr Christian Jessen, the presenter of health-related TV programmes
The good news is that the artist of this week is Barbara Bonney! On Monday she sings Dowland, Byrd and Grieg, Tuesday is Schubert, Wednesday Mozart, Thursday Purcell and Haydn, Friday TBC.

Starting a weekend with BB and good wishes from Eyes; one can hardly ask for more!
It just so happens that I synced BB’s In chambre separee album onto my mp3 player just last week. She’s been spiking up my rides quite considerably! ;D
Have a very happy weekend, Eyes and all!
I’m not familiar with that album – must find it. Perhaps she can spike up my life
Oh goodness…loving that photo!
Hhmmmmmmmm …
