Isn’t it wonderful when several strands of your life conspire to reward you all at the same time?
I have somehow managed to combine work, leisure/hobbies and holiday all in one go and I am having such a good time. Here is my pictorial journey.
Driving North and passing ….
*
I arrive at my first destination
*
Fit in some canny scenic walking in haunts of my youth
*
Do some tourist stuff
*
And where would leisure time be without THE MOST amazing book shop
This may even be better than Hay on Wye last year!
*
Some more family history research
*
And some playing too – but not quite of this standard ..
I think the phrase “working towards” covers it!

None of the photos was taken by me – I’m not that good with a camera!
I’m having a great time – hope you are too

Thank you for the beautiful sights. Enjoy your holidays
Welcome Al and thank you for dropping by. My holiday is certainly enjoyable but all too short. I shall be braving the aweful British motorway chaos soon ( there always seems to be incidents/megatraffic/roadworks on the day I travel but I will have some beautiful scenery and good Northumbrian tunes to dwell upon.
I enjoy reading your blog
Especially this post gives me the wish to visit Britain and its countryside (I know only London). Have a nice journey back home, in spite of the traffic… which is unfortunately everywhere.
Lovely! Enjoy!
The haunts of your youth look beautiful – love the bookstore, too!
I only had time for half a day in the book store. It is the sort of place which makes you wish for wet weather so you can spend even more time there. A trove of treasure.
Same plan here, only the US version — Powells for books, and Portlandia subs for the Angel of the North, and no northumbrian smallpipes, but some gamba playing is likely. Not sure what subs for the Sage Gateshead, but we shall see
And Anonymous = stray, in case this might have been non-obvious.
You play gamba?!!
My sister does.
